From an agent who’s been in the industry for more than 25 years, mastering lead conversion is the key to setting ourselves apart from the competition and achieving remarkable success.

“Grow or die” is the reality that we Realtors face as we enter this new era of real estate. Back when I was still on the debate team in college, I came across a book by an economist and systems theorist, George Ainsworth Land, entitled Grow or Die. He wrote about how economies, societies, and countries need to always be moving in a direction of growth and continue moving forward lest they die. With all the changes happening in the real estate industry, we are facing a very similar grow-or-die scenario. If you want to thrive and not just survive, here are some tips I’ve adapted to my business that might help you.

1. Virtual Assistants. Our business is growing with the help of virtual assistants instead of solely relying on local employees, and many of our colleagues and competitors are doing the same. For many, VAs offer better value and help keep labor costs down. Most importantly, some of the VAs we’ve hired are among the best people we’ve ever had. So, if you’re looking for a way to decrease expenses and free up resources for growth, consider bringing VAs into your business.

“In the current state of real estate, where we can’t change the environment: it’s our turn to adapt. ”

2. Artificial Intelligence. We’ve heard a lot about AI, but it might be a new concept for some. Regardless, it’s time to get on board. AI-powered bots and tools can now handle tasks that Realtors and their teams typically do, such as research, content creation, and email marketing. Soon, they’ll be able to set up and execute systems and checklists. Open your mind and start exploring the possibilities of using AI. Realtors who embrace these tools will have a significant advantage over those who don’t.

3. Zapier. While this is not new, I’ve just recently implemented it in my business. Zapier is an automation tool that connects different software platforms, allowing them to communicate with each other. It lets you automate tasks like transferring lead information from your lead generation sources to your CRM. When you automate your business processes, things happen continuously, whether you’re physically present or not—and that’s what growth looks like.

Throughout history, humans have typically adapted the environment to their needs rather than adapting themselves. But in the current state of real estate, where we can’t change the environment, it’s our turn to adapt. So, if you’re ready to grow, better start adapting now. I hope this has been helpful.
